Veronika joined non-profit organization presente! and organised second Brazilian Edu on Tour. For more information about the Tour please visit EoT's website.
A group of 18 curious, adventurous people from Czech Republic, Belgium, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil came together on Tuesday the 28th October to kick-off Edu on Tour Brazil 2014 with a week of meaningful dialogue, exploration and vision building. The following four weeks we were travelling in smaller teams, inquiring into topics, schools and organisations of our interest, before gathering back in the last week to share and harvest our learning.
During our journey we organised 4 events with our local partners in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to raise awareness about alternative approaches to learning.

The term hackathon comes from the words hack + marathon. The Edu Hackathon is a global initiative created by the education enthusiasts from the organisation present-e.org. This event happens at the same time in many countries worldwide. Local organizations co-create learning projects with the support of their communities. Learning, sharing, supporting and creating are “the core concepts” of this new movement.
The first Czech edition has been organised by the performing artist Giulia Buvoli (Italy) and Veronika Klimesova from Lead a Change, and Lea Mentlikova from eduforum.cz and gamifikatori.cz. The workshop that lasted 6 hours took place at Y Soft corporation, a.s., - BRNO - the event sponsor partner.
Among participants were students, activists and figures from the Czech educational scene, including Petr Pouchly (Court of Moravia), Jan Hlava (Rozecti se) or Radek Danc (Fairlist).
The workshop has been divided into several blocks which consisted of live art performance, brainstorming sessions about the challenges and opportunities in the current system of education and ‘learning by doing’ with Theater of the Oppressed.
